Apology Vs Regret

Let’s take up something new and interesting to discuss.

I was watching the last few episodes of the Emmy-winner show called The Schitt’s Creek!

A very funny and annoying character says something impolite and then says, I apologise but I don’t regret.

Which clicked in my mind, is the difference between apology vs regret.

Before we get into the thick of it, David Levy is the best actor ever.

Okay, back to business.

Apology is a remorse/regret towards an action- it’s professional acknowledgement of a mistake/wrong-doing.

Now, regret comes internally, it’s personal not universally felt emotion with apology and is intuitive.

There will always be situations where one feels apologetic, considering the environment/stage but not feel regretful about it.

So, focus and spent a minute here. What do you think matters more?

Regret or Apology?

Honestly, and fairly it completely depends on situation and understanding of people.

But, if it on a personal note – It’s not apology, it’s the feeling of regret. It’s the sense check which notifies a wrong doing than the acknowledgement.

Now comes a burning question of what to do in situations you feel no regret, but have to apologise.

Be courteous and apologise, communicate the same with the correct tone and meaning.

Where as in case of regret, respond with the emotion of understanding the thought and apologising with intent of not repeating . As they say being sorry from the heart.
